Yep, that’s right you now stream videos and TV shows through Amazon.com! Most of the TV episodes are around $2.99. However, if you have paid for an Amazon Prime Membership, a lot of the videos and TV episodes are now free!!!
So, if like me, you don’t have cable, satellite or etc and you watch TV through your computer (or even if you do have those things), make sure to check out Amazon.com’s video streaming!
Now, I will say that while I plan to use Amazon streaming, I will not be shutting off Netflix. I still enjoy Netflix and they have a lot of good kid shows and movies that my kids like to watch, plus I like getting the DVDs in the mail as well. So I would suggest Amazon Video as a supplement to Netflix, but not a replacement.

I recently bought the first six Star Trek movies on Blu-Ray and am enjoying them, except for Star Trek the Motion Picture. My question is how many Trekkies actually like this movie? I know that there is some debate over whether this is a good Trek movie. The costumes suck, the plot sucks and it is pretty much painful to watch. But I am bound and determined to finish this movie (even if I wish that I were kidnapped by V-ger!)!
So, please tell me what it is about this particular movie that I should like, find interesting, etc.
(Oh, and by the way, if you are in the Seattle area, William Shatner will be at Emerald City Comicon the first weekend of March!)
I’m taking a minute to talk about something other than my typical geeky stuff. As part of my new focus to help mom enhance their lives, I feel that this is worth mentioning. I just finished watching “Fireproof” written and directed by Alex Kendrick, who brought us “Facing the Giants“. Now, if you’ve seen Facing the Giants and thought it was a good story with some big cheese factor, don’t discount Fireproof! Fireproof is the Kendrick’s sophomore effort on the big screen and in my opnion, much more realistic to normal life, with no cheese factor thrown in.
This movie is about a couple who is on the brink of divorce. The main character Caleb(played by veteran actor Kirk Cameron) is a fire captain who has given everything to everyone else but his wife. His wife, who is not perfect either, won’t give him any respect.
After an all out fight, Caleb meets with his dad, who mails him a book called The Love Dare. In which he has forty days to complete forty tasks. As for if is saves his marriage or not, watch the movie!
I will tell you that I have been going through The Love Dare book. Why would someone who is studying to be a marriage and couples counselor take part in a book like this, you ask? Well, for two reasons: 1. Every marriage needs work, no matter how good things are going and 2. How can I as a counselor recommend this book to my potential clients if I haven’t done the work myself?
So, grab your hubby or wife, get a babysitter (if needed) and curl up and watch it together. Also, don’t forget to grab The Love Dare book!
