MaryAnn Johnson
Thanks to the wonderful world of Google +, I found this great blog by MaryAnn Johnson called Flick Filosopher, in which MaryAnn does movie reviews and commentary for new movies in theater, DVD and etc.
What I like about MaryAnn versus other movie review sites is that she present the information with humor, but also I love her icons on each of the photos of the movie to be reviewed. (Such as skip it, rent it or see it.) I like this because let’s face it, I don’t always have time to read everything I see on the internet, but I like that I can see the icon (especially if it says Skip It) and read the review later.
So far, I have yet to disagree with MaryAnn’s reviews, so that’s pretty nice too! I hate it when you find a review site that feels differently than you about almost every movie out there! What I also enjoy about her blog is the amount of content! If there is a movie to be seen or reviewed, she’s done it!
So make sure to check out Flick Filopsopher and have some fun before you go to the movies!

If you are fan of True Blood like I do, you will be happy to know that Season 3 is now on DVD and Blu-Ray! This season was a really good season. It was grittier than normal, Sookie really stepped up and showed her stuff and we found out that there are sexy werewolves & witches out there too (as if you didn’t know already)! It was full of action and craziness!
So make sure to pick up the True Blood Season 3 today!
If you want more of Sookie Stackhouse, make sure to check out Charlaine Harris’s newest book, Dead Reckoning!
Greetings programs!
Yesterday was a momentous occasion for all TRON fans! That’s right, TRON Legacy released on Blu-Ray and DVD! I pre-ordered my TRON Legacy Ultimate Edition on Amazon. I was so excited and for good reason! The bonus features on TRON Legacy and TRON are cool enough on their own for any TRON fan. Hours of awesome bonus features that really capture not only how they made the films, but the essence of the films as well.
There are a whopping 5 discs in the Ultimate Edition, 3d TRON Legacy, Blu-Ray Tron Legacy, Blu-Ray TRON, DVD Copy of TRON Legacy and a digital copy as well. Now I know you are thinking, do I really need that many copies? Yep! I can tell you that we watch the Blu-Ray discs in the family room, but the kids can watch the DVD copy in their rooms and at night this user can watch it on my Apple TV or iPad in the comfort of my own warm bed! So yes, if you are a true TRON fan, you need this many copies.

All 5 discs fit into the Indentity Disc!

TRON Legacy/TRON Ultimate Experience Packaging
As you can see the Identity Disc lights up, which is pretty awesome and all 5 discs fit into the disc. The marketer who came up with this packaging is pure genius!
Some of the cool special features include Disney’s Second Screen. This Apple app allows you to watch the movie on your tv and get more special features and cool stuff that are in line with what you are watching on screen on your iPad or Apple. This app takes special features to a whole new level! This technology is pretty awesome and I had fun playing around with it today. I am really excited to see what other big name studios are going to get onboard with this tech!
So make sure that you pick up your copy of TRON Legacy (if you can, our local WalMart was sold out this morning!) and enjoy!
End of Line.
Yep, that’s right you now stream videos and TV shows through Amazon.com! Most of the TV episodes are around $2.99. However, if you have paid for an Amazon Prime Membership, a lot of the videos and TV episodes are now free!!!
So, if like me, you don’t have cable, satellite or etc and you watch TV through your computer (or even if you do have those things), make sure to check out Amazon.com’s video streaming!
Now, I will say that while I plan to use Amazon streaming, I will not be shutting off Netflix. I still enjoy Netflix and they have a lot of good kid shows and movies that my kids like to watch, plus I like getting the DVDs in the mail as well. So I would suggest Amazon Video as a supplement to Netflix, but not a replacement.
I am a fan of Sex and the City. (I know not the most moral show out there, but I like it!) So when I saw this item pop up I knew I just had to get it! The deal is amazing! Normally the entire series runs for $250.00, but with yesterday’s price of $149, plus today’s discount of $60, your complete series is now only…$99.99. That’s right $150.00 off! So guys, if your gal likes Sex and the City and you are still nervous about what to get her for Valentine’s Day, I would tell you this is it!

Sex & The City: Complete Collection
Celebrate the franchise that explores the day-to-day (and night-to-night) world of single women with the ultimate collector’s set– all six remastered seasons, plus the two films, and an exclusive bonus disc!
Calling all Battlestar Galactica fans! Amazon’s Deal of the Day is the boxed set of Battlestar Galactica!
“Now you can relive every action-packed moment of “Battlestar Galactica,” the epic sci-fi series in which a small but determined fleet fights to save the human race while being hunted by their nemesis, the robot cylons. You can save an additional $8 when you buy either the Blu-ray or DVD set along with “Caprica: Season 1.0.” Or watch the first episode for free today with Amazon Video On Demand.” From Amazon.com
This is a must have for any Battlestar fan and I have to say as a nerd, I want one under my Christmas Tree, Santa! Hurry though, there are only 9 left!
There is a great new DVD Series by the Big Idea crew:What’s in the Bible. These are great DVDs that teach your kids wonderful things about the Bible and the Books in them. Make sure to check them out! Sophia my five year old loves them and just soaks them up! If your kids love these DVDs, then also be sure to check out JellyTelly! These great characters teach more about the Bible, there are fun games and etc!
After seeing the DVDXpress kiosk at my local grocery store, I was curious just how it worked. My parents have rented dvds through this type of service (Redbox) before, so I thought I would give it a try. I rented “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” for my daughter and “Nim’s Island” for myself. It was a really simple process, just pick your movies, slide your debit card and out comes the movies. The movies are due the next day. Pretty easy. What I liked about this way of renting DVDs is that it is ideal for someone who only watches movies occasionally. It’s easy and painless. You can even set up a monthly schedule as well.
As for someone like me, who is a movie freak, this way to rent movies doesn’t really fit my lifestyle. I would end up spending more money in the long run. That’s why I use Netflix. I always have a movie, and I can watch it as many times as I want, without the fear of late fees. This system also works best for my daughter, who loves to watch the movies over and over and over.
So, before deciding which company to use, I would evaluate how often you watch movies and how often you rewatch the movies that you have rented!
