So, I decided to try out Squidoo, since I have a lot of friends who like it. After creating my first lens, I really like it too! So check out my first (of many to come) lens and tell me what you think! I decided to showcase some really cool sci-fi hand made products.

Ah, Peter Jackson, we have waited long for this movie and this movie trailer. Even since concluding The Lord of The Rings trilogy back in 2003, many of us fans were waiting for more. After years of “will he make the Hobbit, or won’t he” we finally have an answer.

I love that Peter cast Martin Freeman as Bilbo. Martin has been a favorite actor of mine for awhile, in great movies such as The Hitchhiker’s Guide, Hot Fuzz, and also recently Sherlock to name a few. Martin has a quality that is funny, endearing, and awkward but can be serious at the same time. I think he personifies Bilbo. Also having a bit of eye candy with Aidan Turner, aka Mitchell from BBC’s Being Human, as Kili doesn’t hurt either!

The only downfall to this movie, is that we have to wait until December of 2012, that is if the world doesn’t end first! So watch the trailer and enjoy!

Got a chance last week to watch the Batman 3 trailer and I have to tell you, it looks pretty good! I am excited for the final chapter in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight series. I have to admit, I am still a little skeptical about Anne Hathaway, but hopefully she will surprise me with a good performance. Tom Hardy’s Bane looks downright decent and I am really glad to see him in this role.

All in all, from what I can see from the trailers, this looks like a “I want to see this on IMAX 3D” kind of movie (if it’s released that way). The graphics look really good, the costumes amazing and well, all around it looks good. Too bad we have to wait so long for it! Grrr!

Let me premise this post by saying before I had kids, I never struggled with my weight. I was one of those girls that could eat whatever I wanted and not gain anything. This was all before kids. Post kids, I was 5′ tall and weighed 155lbs. I am not pleased to admit this, and I find it embarrassing.

But after some hard work in the diet area and getting off my big booty and running three days a week and walking and some strength training, I have shed some of this weight! I went into the Guess outlet, here at the outlet mall by my house while waiting for a friend to get off of work, and I decided to try some of their skinny jeans on. I grabbed a size 32 and headed to the dressing room. I put the pants on and promptly fell to the floor! I was flabbergasted! So, I grabbed a size 30 and size 29. The size 29 was totally for fun, I never expected them to EVER fit, however they did! They fit well! I did a quick happy dance there in the dressing room and promptly bought them. I asked the sales gal and she told me that the size conversion was a size 8. I haven’t worn a size 8 in a long time, so to be able to fit into this size was a HUGE deal for me and did wonders for my self esteem!

As a nerdy girl, it’s important to show my girls and fellow nerds that while gaming is awesome, we have to take care of our bodies! A great program to follow is the Couch to 5 k or C25K app for Blackberry, iPhone and Android phones. This is a great way to ease into running and the timer on the app is perfect. You push the button and do what it says. This app is a great way to use your nerdy tech and get fit at the same time. There are also the Adidas Mi Coach and the Nike Plus, which will track your performance as well.

So get your nerdy butts off the couch and get up and get moving. Remember, don’t make resolutions, make reality happen! Need some good tunes to run to? Check out my playlist!

I am back from PAX Prime 2011 and this year was awesome! I will be blogging about it more in later today and the next couple of days, but for the moment, I need to catch up on some of my chores around the house! It’s amazing how your house can become dirtier even if you aren’t home. I will have some cool stuff to giveaway, cool games to talk about ans etc! So stay tuned…

Today I got the chance to try the Wendy’s new Berry Almond Chicken salad with some of my blogging

I have to say that the salad was delicious! Normally when you get fastfood salads, they use icky iceberg lettuce and it’s pretty wilted and etc. However, this was not the case here! Wendy’s uses yummy mixed greens (spinach, romaine and more) for the salad. The strawberries and blueberries were fresh and tasted great! They tasted like they were fresh from the garden. To top it off, you get fat free raspberry vinaigrette dressing and sliced almonds to add to the salad. While I have to be honest, I didn’t try the chicken on the salad, as I am a vegetarian. You can order the salad without chicken for a good vegetarian option. However, my loving husband, Brad (Running For 365 Days) took one for the team and ate the chicken, which he said was really good! The chicken was lean, fresh, baked chicken breast, whereas most places use leftover chicken bits, Wendy’s doesn’t skimp on that!

So I like the show Big Love on HBO. I personally would not want to be in a polygamist marriage, but as a psychology major, I find the marriage dynamic fascinating. However, the more I watch the show, the more I can’t stand Bill. He has become too big for his britches and it’s tearing his family apart. I love in season 4, how Sarah states to Scott, “Oh, you know, new day. New revelation.” Shipping Ana off to Russia with his unborn child, running for Senate and putting his family in the spotlight, tossing Ben out as a “lost boy” during season 4. Bill is clearly losing sight of reality and is more interested in power. This might be due to the fact that he was thrown out as a “lost boy” off the Juniper Creek compound. Bill feels that he needs to prove to the world that he can make something of himself without the help of the compound. Daddy issues, anyone?

Now that Barb is drinking, Nikki is more competitive with the other wives then ever, and Margie is drowning, I have a feeling that this marriage will dissolve by the final episode. It seems as though the more the season progresses the worse the marriage gets. How much is too much for these three wives? I’ve come to the conclusion that the only sane one in the family is Sarah, who got married and moved to Portland.

So my big 5 predictions:

1. Somebody’s going to die. I’m not sure who, but I just have a feeling.
2. Bill’s marriage will collapse
3. Carolyn (Nikki’s daughter) will probably be caught in a compromising position with Gary Embry
4. Margie is going to have a total meltdown
5. The Juniper Creek compound will be shut down for good.

This year at PAX, one of the bigger game roll outs was Epic Mickey! This game is limited to the Wii console and has it’s own special edition Wii Nunchuck in the shape of a paint brush! While the game rating is still pending, I would have to venture a guess that it will be an E8 Rating (everyone above the age of 8), only because there are a couple of scary monsters in it. However, the beauty of this game is that you can “erase” and “repaint” the bad guys. The graphics were awesome, especially considering that the Wii is not an HD upgrader, so the graphics tend not to look as good as the Xbox or the PS3 (which are upgraders). The graphics were really pretty and immersive.

The game was really fun to play as well! Sophia (6) really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun with it.(As you can see!) The game included tutorials and hints along the way, via a cute character, which was helpful to Sophia and other players. The release date for this game was just announced as November 30th, 2010, just in time for Christmas! After the buzz at PAX, I would HIGHLY suggest preordering it because it will go fast, I have a feeling that it will be Tickle Me Elmo proportions!

Epic Mickey is fun to play, awesome to look at and enjoyable for the whole family. I think this game is as epic as it’s title! Enjoy!
