Must have book: Knits for Nerds!

Knits for Nerds from Amazon.com

A Google + friend, Rilana is a pattern contributor to this awesome book: Knits for Nerds. As a Nerdy Knitter myself, I can’t wait for this book to release!

I mean, look at the cover, it just screams, buy me and knit me!!! (Okay, well at least it does to me!)

I am really excited about this book, because I have been working on a lot of nerdy knitted items for people and I am really glad to see a insurgence of nerdy knitting patterns, because there just aren’t enough out there!

This book releases on February 21, 2012, but knitting nerds like me, that’s going to be hard to wait for! Make sure to preorder your copy and give us nerdy knitters and especially pattern creators like Rilanna some nerd love!

Nerdy Knit: For the Horde!

For the Horde knit pattern by Nerdy Knit

After completing the Star Wars Baby Blanket for a friend, I needed a new pattern to design and test out. So, since I’ve been a World Of Warcraft convert and I am a big Horde fan, I decided to create this awesome Horde pattern and on a really boring Friday, I tested it out.

It turned out really cool and I am really excited to work on a For the Horde afghan. This might take me a while, but it will be really fun and I am looking forward to it!

Nerdy Knit: My Death Star baby blanket

Death Star baby blanket by Krisy

A friend of mine recently asked me to make a Star Wars baby blanket, so I jumped at the chance, because Lord knows, I don’t get a chance to make nerdy knitting and crocheted stuff enough! After fighting the pattern and finally figuring it out, I am just about done with it! I just have to finish the border and then it’s done! I am really excited and the buzz after posting this picture both on Google + and Facebook has generated more Nerdy Knit stuff, which is awesome! I am SO excited!

This blanket turned out a lot better than I ever imagined. Not that I was expecting it to turn out badly, but when you create your own patterns, it tends to be a hold your breath until it’s finished thing. So, here it is! I will be setting up a Nerdy Knit page soon with a virtual store front in the next week or so, keep a look out!
