Batman 3 Trailer: Finally!!!

Got a chance last week to watch the Batman 3 trailer and I have to tell you, it looks pretty good! I am excited for the final chapter in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight series. I have to admit, I am still a little skeptical about Anne Hathaway, but hopefully she will surprise me with a good performance. Tom Hardy’s Bane looks downright decent and I am really glad to see him in this role.

All in all, from what I can see from the trailers, this looks like a “I want to see this on IMAX 3D” kind of movie (if it’s released that way). The graphics look really good, the costumes amazing and well, all around it looks good. Too bad we have to wait so long for it! Grrr!

The Avengers photos are out!

While pursuing the web, I stumbled across this little tidbit! It’s photos of the Avengers working on the newest movie, which I am psyched for!!!

I will be honest, I am not sure how the Hulk is going to be with Mark Ruffalo. I think that the fact that the actor playing the Hulk has switched 3 times in the last year is not a good sign. Is there a Hulk casting curse that we are unaware of? (E True Hollywood story to follow?)

But all in all, I am excited for this one!

Battle of the Batmans: Tim, Joel or Chris?

The Batman (TV series)

So, this lovely morning, I am watching Batman, Tim Burton style and I got to wondering, who has done the Batman series justice?

We have Tim Burton’s stylized Batman and Batman Returns, which I love. It’s dark, gritty, and well done. The only downfall of this series is the Prince soundtrack on the first Batman. Jack Nicholson does an amazing job as the Joker and Micheal Keaton makes a good Batman.

Next we have Joel Schumaker’s Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. These are the campy ones, much like the tv show was. These are better for kids to enjoy, they are light and brainless, I feel, but my kids like them. Upside is watching Jim Carrey play the Riddler and Uma Thurman play Poison Ivy.

Lastly, we have Chris Nolan’s versions, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. These are darker, grittier and the plot is better than both Tim & Joel. (Sorry Tim, still love you!) And while I would have never thought to cast Christian Bale as Batman, it works. Plus, let’s not forget Heath Ledger’s Joker, which has been the best Joker ever, hands down. His Joker brings creepy and psychotic to a whole new level. (Trust me, I wrote a psych paper based in him and I was told it was too long and par it down.)

So, now the question, Batman fans: which series is your favorite? Tim, Joel or Chris?

The movie for all monsters: Dylan Dog

Dylan Dog was created by writer Tiziano Sclavi...

Dylan Dog is an impartial investigator for all the undead. Dylan’s job: to make sure they all stay in line. This movie is based off the Italian comic by the same name. While at first, I thought this might be bad comic to movie crossover, once I saw the trailer, I changed my mind. This movie looks good! It’s got monsters for everyone: vampires, werewolves, zombies, demons and etc.

It stars Brandon Routh, who you may remember from Superman Returns and Sm Huntington from the movie Fanboys and also starring in the US version of Being Human. So check it out and let me know what you think, I know I’m going to be seeing it!

Kevin Coster, as Jonathan Kent in the new Superman movie

Actor and director Kevin Costner while visitin...

Oh, boy, I think that the people at DC are losing it! It was just recently annouced that Kevin Coster will be playing Jonathan Kent, Clark’s (adopted) dad in the new Superman movie to be directed by Zack Snyder. (Okay, Snyder, you’ve had a good run with 300, Watchmen and the upcoming SuckerPunch, so I will trust you on this one.)

I think that acting-wise, Kevin will do a good job, just don’t let him make ANY script changes! Kevin has the propensity to turn a 2 hour movie into a hour and 45 minutes of character development and 15 minutes of actual action. So please, Zack, don’t let him near the script!

Kevin is good at being the nurturing, inspiring dad-type to play Jonathon Kent. I think that he can pull off the Kent good ‘ol boy attitude of a farming family, plus with Diane Lane beside him as Martha Kent, at least if he sucks, you get something pretty to look at!

Best Wishes to Kevin, please don’t suck. Zack, pressure’s on you now!

Today we (the family and I) spent the day at Emerald City Comicon. We had a great time! I took a lot of great cosplay photos and the costumes were amazing! I also got some great interviews with some really awesome people!

So, as I am now dead on my feet, I will be showcasing the videos and cosplay photos throughout the rest of the weekend and the week!

Some of the people that I interviewed were Adam WarRock, a comic book based hip hop artist! His music rocks! I’m not normally a big hip hop listener, but Adam, I am a HUGE fan now!!!

I also spoke with the guys at Comic Geek Speak, they were friendly, funny and just plain fun! They guys at Comic Geek Speak run a daily podcast about comics and all things comic related. I consider them an authority on all things comic!

There are many people I interviewed at Emerald City Comicon, so make sure to tune in!
