Since this year’s election seems to be clouding everyone’s judgement, vote nerd! My vote is for Whovian. Who are you voting for?
Thanks to the wonderful world of Google +, I found this great blog by MaryAnn Johnson called Flick Filosopher, in which MaryAnn does movie reviews and commentary for new movies in theater, DVD and etc.
What I like about MaryAnn versus other movie review sites is that she present the information with humor, but also I love her icons on each of the photos of the movie to be reviewed. (Such as skip it, rent it or see it.) I like this because let’s face it, I don’t always have time to read everything I see on the internet, but I like that I can see the icon (especially if it says Skip It) and read the review later.
So far, I have yet to disagree with MaryAnn’s reviews, so that’s pretty nice too! I hate it when you find a review site that feels differently than you about almost every movie out there! What I also enjoy about her blog is the amount of content! If there is a movie to be seen or reviewed, she’s done it!
So make sure to check out Flick Filopsopher and have some fun before you go to the movies!
A friend posted this interview with Benedict Cumberbatch of Sherlock and I love it! Hope you enjoy it too! There are rumors circulating that Benedict is slated to be in the next Star Trek movie, however his role has yet to be disclosed.
Funny or Die posted this photo on Google + today and when I saw it, I wanted to cry. This picture says it all. How many times have you snapped at your kiddos and said things that you wished you could take back immediately. I know I have.
I am making a challenge to say at least five nice things about my kids to my kids everyday, even on the days that I just want to scream. I encourage you (if you are a parent) to do the same and lets stop this picture from happening in our kids lives.
SOPA and PIPA are the worst ideas out there. They will potentially shut down millions of websites and let’s face it, most of us bloggers make money off our blogs, so thanks for killing our source of income! I could rant on and on, but I’m going to send you to Google and let them tell the whole story. Please make sure to sign the petition to stop these horrible bills!!!
I have never been a PC gamer, I prefer the Xbox or Wii platforms. Back in December a friend of mine bought me Portal and Portal 2 on Steam. I thought I would give it a try. Needless to say, I dig it! The only bummer about Steam is that the ratio of PC to MAC games is kind of weak, but that’s not totally their fault, it’s the developers. So, I had been playing Portal for a bit, when another friend bought me Left 4 Dead. It’s zombies, a little spooky and fun. I found out before I played it that it was a shooter game. (Oh, no!)
Let’s start by saying, I suck at shooters! I am the first person to get fragged in Halo and before I have a chance to respawn, I’m dead again. (Yep, I’ve been teabagged and I am not proud to say that!) So, when I realized that it was a shooter, I was nervous. I suck and I thought I would try it out anyway.
So, I played for about 30 minutes and I discovered that I am good at shooters on PC gaming! I’m still not the best in the world, but I am much better at it on PC than any other platform! While, I’m not quite ready to play Player vs. Player or PvP for short, in Left 4 Dead, I am definitely excited about the party mode! I think I can handle myself well in that arena!
So, if you aren’t sure whether you will like PC gaming or not, try out Steam. The games are fun and affordable and I dig it and I was not a PC gamer before this!
Lately, there have been a lot of sci-fi and sit-coms starting out this new fall season, and while I like both, I
want something edgy and a little scary as well. But I am sick of vampires, werewolves and zombies, so now what? Well, in comes American Horror Story, which premieres tonight (10/3/2011). After looking at the website, it looks edgy and creepy! I am excited for this one and I hope that it live up to what it’s previewing! So tonight, curl up with a blanket, shut off all the lights and be prepared..
I have been watching AggressiveComix for a short while now and I love her reviews! She is witty, no-holds-barred honest and I love that! What’s also kick butt is that she is an actual NERD, not some poser wanna-be who just wants to make it big on YouTube! (I’m sure she wants to make it big, but she’s not a sell out (insert Olivia Munn jokes here)!)
Jenny is by far one of the better reviewers of nerdstuff and I highly encourage you to watch her, in fact, watch this!
On Saturday at PAX, I headed over to the Dungeons & Dragons booth and had WAY too much fun! I had a talk with some of the D&D guys and they just launched an awesome Facebook D&D game: Heroes of Neverwinter. I had a chance to look and play with it at PAX and it looks awesome! This game follows the footsteps of the Neverwinter campaign. (Which you should play if you aren’t already! Our local game store is Wandering Havoc, if you are in the Marysville/Arlington area) The only bummer is that the beta is now closed. So I am hopeful that it will open up again really soon. I think they might have just gotten flooded from all the folks at PAX Prime.
I also looked at Dungeons and Dragons Online as well. I have played this awesome and free MMO for a couple of years now and I love it! It’s a great and cheaper way to get my D&D fix! I acquired an awesome pirate hat code for your D&D online character, if you want it, you just have to tell me what race and class of character you play, and why you like it! Don’t forget to include your email, or I can’t send you the code!
