The last two weeks, I have caught both episodes of Covert Affairs, USA Networks newest show. As I have watched both episodes, I have noticed a startling resemblance to the older (but better written by J.J. Abrams) show Alias. Hot young post collegiate takes job working for CIA in ridiculously skimpy and provocative clothing. At least Alias had a better plot line then “the boyfriend is a bad guy and let’s use the main character as bait to catch him”. Lame. This show is maybe a 2 on a scale of 5. And while we are at it, I have yet to see a person play a blind person worse than Christopher Gorham! He ovedoes it not by an inch, but by a mile! He is quite possibly the worst person playing a blind man ever! And considering how many movies and tv shows I have watched, that is pretty bad!
Let me know what you think and if you like it, please tell me why (nicely please!), maybe you can change my mind, we’ll see. As for now, I will watch it when I am having a hard time sleeping, to help put me to sleep that is!

I haven’t seen Covert Affairs, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Alias and can’t imagine this new show being better. Also, I’ve seen commercials for a new JJ Abrams spy couple show, but I haven’t seen it yet… Alias was just awesome.
@Heather,
I admit, it is not any better than Alias! After 2 episodes of Covert Affairs, I not only wanted to scratch my eyes out, but I wanted to rewind and get the 2 hours back from my life! I have noticed that USA network is really a hit or miss when nit comes to their original series. White Collar: good, Burn Notice: Yuck. Leverage: Good, Covert Affairs: total crap!
Best wishes and thanks for stopping by!

This show is a wanna be Burn Notice. I hope it fails. Burn Notice is the best show on television and USA just wants to cash in on the “spy” angle for a show. Except Covert Affairs is more cheesy and less about how a spy really operates. In Burn Notice, they actually use a former covert operative as a consultant for the show. Even that show Royal Pains is a Burn Notice rip off. EXACT same premise. A doctor gets “fired/burned” and has to do free lance. Unlike BN, I don’t think he’s trying to get back in the medical community. Michael is trying to get back in..b/c in the intelligence field, being burned is probably the WORST thing to be. White Collar is kinda cheesy. Leverage? I don’t even know what the f&*(
that is. There’s a reason Burn Notice has 6 million viewers a week.
