If you are a comic book fan with kids who also like comics, I would suggest checking out these great sites!
Marvel Comics has a kids site with great printables and games for kids. Sophia (4) loves it! She is a huge Spiderman fan, so to be able to print cool coloring pages for her is great! Most of the games are a bit old for her, but she really likes watching me play them.
DC Comics also has a great kids site, altougth, not quite as cool as Marvel’s. It has games, comics and books. But no neat things, like printables. The books and comics section are just lists, so not really appealing to look at for an adult, let alone a kid. The games are okay, though, so if you have a DC fan on your hands, still check it out.
My four year old daughter, Sophia has a Leapster 2 handheld game console. She just loves playing the games and I am pretty happy because she is learning in the process. What is really great about the LeapFrog learning systems is the Leapster Connect function. This great tool allows me to track well she is learning the new skills and how much she is improving! I love this function, because I can show her preschool teacher this information when we have Parent/Teacher Conferences tomorrow.
It’s a pretty great tool and I highly encourage other parents whose kids have Leapster2 consoles to utilize this great function!
My family has changed out lifestyle! We started to eat better, by following some of the great recipes in Eat Clean Diet for Family and Kids by Tosca Reno. I just cleaned out our cabinets of all the processed and crappy foods that were in there. There was a lot!!! Sophia & I ventured up to the local food co-op and got some great and yummy non-processed, non-crap food. Honestly, after eating healthy like this for the last few days, I am already starting to feel better!
Brad & I also started seeing nautropathic doctors, of which we are both happy with. If you live in the Snohomish County area, check out Snohomish Naturopathic Clinic, in Snohomish, WA. Dr Allison Novis and Dr. Michelle Torrance are great!!! We love it there!
It is great to weed out the crap in our lives!
I am wishing today that I were the Bionic Woman, but only in one instance. I really wish that someone would create a removable cartridge for your sinuses so you could just toss it in the dishwasher.
I am super congested and I long to breathe!!! My poor nose is raw from blowing it constantly and my face just hurts. But, this shall pass and I will move on. Eventually….
If you live in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy comics, then you need to check out Emerald City Comicon! The Con takes place on April 4th & 5th at the Convention Center in downtown Seattle and ticket prices are $25.00 for the 2 day pass and $15 for just a one day pass. You can buy tickets online or buy them at the many comic book shops listed on the link. Last year and this year, I have been involved with this Comicon and I have to say, I look forward to Comicon every year! It is typically the highlight of the year for me. This Con is awesome and we have some great celebrity guests lined up this year including:
And as for comic artists and writers:

So make sure that you get your tickets and get to the Emerald City Comicon! You will love it!
After seeing the DVDXpress kiosk at my local grocery store, I was curious just how it worked. My parents have rented dvds through this type of service (Redbox) before, so I thought I would give it a try. I rented “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” for my daughter and “Nim’s Island” for myself. It was a really simple process, just pick your movies, slide your debit card and out comes the movies. The movies are due the next day. Pretty easy. What I liked about this way of renting DVDs is that it is ideal for someone who only watches movies occasionally. It’s easy and painless. You can even set up a monthly schedule as well.
As for someone like me, who is a movie freak, this way to rent movies doesn’t really fit my lifestyle. I would end up spending more money in the long run. That’s why I use Netflix. I always have a movie, and I can watch it as many times as I want, without the fear of late fees. This system also works best for my daughter, who loves to watch the movies over and over and over.
So, before deciding which company to use, I would evaluate how often you watch movies and how often you rewatch the movies that you have rented!
