Xbox gets a new look!

Xbox will be rolling out a new look to the Xbox Live area. They will adding be the use of avatars and some of the newer games, such as Scene It! Box Office Smash will actually use your created avatar in the game. So far, this update seems like a pretty cool thing, but time will tell. This new update will be rolling out on November 19th, so be sure to update your Xbox! Also, Xbox will be partnering with Netflix, so that you can choose to watch your "Instant Viewing" movies through your Xbox! So for all you Netflix users, like me, this is great news!

Here's a preview of the new look for your avatars:

The election is done

So, there will probably be some sad people out there today, but that would have been the case no matter who won the Presidency. Can't please everyone, you know.

As for how the country is going to shape up during the next four years, your guess is as good as mine. I am just VERY glad that I won't have to see any more political commercials!

Wii Fit! I love it!

I am pregnant and I love using Wii Fit. Hauling my pregnant butt into a cardio class is not feasable right now, but going into Wii Fit everyday has really helped.

The individual games are fun and I have to admit it is bringing out my husband and my competitive natures! Even my 4 year old daughter enjoys Wii Fit. The games are great for all ages and are challenging and fun!

The only drawback is that is asks why I have gained weight, there isn't a "pregnancy" option, so I just have to click on "I Don't Know." But that is the only downfall.

It’s Election Day!

I am so glad that today is Election Day. Mostly because I am really sick and tired of the political ads, mail and phone calls. I want it to be DONE!!!

I can't wait until tomorrow when all the ads are off the air and life pretty much goes back to normal. I can't wait!

As for all the people who stated that they will move to Canada if the vote doesn't go their way, go ahead and leave, we don't want you anyway! Personally, I feel that to be an American means that you stick by your country no matter who is running it, but for the whiny babies out there, head to the border, we don't need you anyway.

Escape

Escape is the current book that I am reading written by Carolyn Jessop. Escape is the harrowing story of Carolyn's escape from the Colorado City Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints Polygamist Cult. This book is an intense read. This book is not for the feint of heart, but it is a very good story that needs to be told.

It is easy to look outside of the situation and lifestyle and wonder what make a person choose a lifestyle like that? However, one has to remember that when you are a sixth generation FLDS Polygamist, such as Carolyn, what other life do you know? Carolyn was married at 18 to Merril Jessop, who in my opinion, should be shot, and was his fourth wife. There was rampant abuse within the community, and wives playing bitter and jealousy games with each other.

Read this book and get a good look into what her life was like and how she is going now. You won't be disappointed.

Eagle Eye

I finally got around to seeing the newest action thiller "Eagle Eye", starring Shia LaBouf. (While, as a person, I am not a big fan of Shia, thanks to the DUI's and criminal trespassing charges, he is a good actor.)

This movie was fast paced with the action starting within the first 15 minutes and it kept you guessing until the final few minutes before the credits rolled.

It all started for poor Jerry when he hits the ATM machine for cash and notices that his balance is $751,000.00. Then as he arrives home, there are boxes and bags of every ingredient that the Anarchist's Cookbook would call for. His phone rings and a woman states "The FBI will be arriving in 30 seconds to arrest you, you need to run. Jerry Shaw, you have been activated."

There are too few movies in Hollywood these days that seem to think that you need lots of special effects and stunts and a whimpy script to make a good movie. I think that this movie had the perfect balance of special effects and a good script to boot. This movie also had an outstanding Porsche (pronounced por-sche with two syllabuls, for the non-porsche owners, unlike me) Cayenne high speed chase. It was enough that I was seriously contemplating seeing what I could get for my 1974 Porsche 914 2.0 liter, so I could get one! I would highly suggest seeing this flick!

One word of caution: make sure that are up for a wild ride!!

"She told me to tell you this…"
