Star Wars: Force Unleashed

I just played the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed demo on this game and I can't wait for it to come out! The graphics are great, the controls were relatively easy, but not so easy that you didn't feel challenged. The game pace is fast and fun. Using the Force to throw people and objects was some of the most fun that I have had on a Star Wars game. The story behind the game takes place shortly after Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Darth Vadar wants to arradicate all remaining members of the Jedi Council, so he sends his secret apprentice Starkiller to wipe them all out.

On a side note, Starkiller was actually Luke and Leia's last name in early drafts of Star Wars: A New Hope.

Here are some of the concept art pictures.

First the Washer, Then the Fridge

In the past three weeks, I have gotten to know the great staff at the local Sears Home Appliance Store, here in Marysville. First off, let me say the staff is friendly, which is great. Also their shining star is their daughter, who works there. She is a great saleswoman! But, let's tell my little tale:

Three weeks ago, I started the laundry as per normal. Our wonderful top loading washer was happily filling up with water and was about to agitate when I heard this god awful noise! If you remember the most annoying sound from Dumb and Dumber, you will understand the sound of the noise. I tinkered with it for a few minutes before walking back into the house (Washer and Dryer are in the garage) and telling Brad that our pour washer was dead. (Queue the funeral dirge.) We looked for washers at Lowe's and didn't really find what we wanted, so we headed south down State Street and ended up at the Sear's Home Appliance Store. Owned and operated by the Tripps. Brad and I were just looking for a top loading washer, as we really didn't want to spend a lot of money, especially on the old credit card. But, the Tripps daughter really convinced us that in the long run a front loader was the way to go. I really hope that she makes commission, because she was really good! So, we had it delivered and needless to say, I love it!!!

Well, yesterday, I noticed that there was an issue with the refridgerator, it wasn't cold. So after waiting overnight, we headed back to the Tripps to get a new fridge. I love it too! We got is delivered same day, because they happened to be heading our way for another delivery. We bought it at 9:45am and it was installed in our house by 10:45am. How's that for service!

So, if you live in the Marysville, Arlington, Tulalip area, and have an appliance need, please go see the Tripps, they really take care of their customers!

DVICE TV: Watch the Cylon Toaster make 3 kinds of frakkin' awesome toast

Everyone knows that Cylons
are great at killing humans, but can they make toast? We fired up this
Cylon toaster to see exactly what kind of damage it could do to some
bread. I mean, we know it burns a Cylon face into your toast, but would
it be gentle and warm like Athena, or would it unleash some furious
heat like Number Six? Watch and learn — plus discover its secret
ability as a projectile weapon. Maybe that was the "plan" all along.

The SCI FI Channel (our parent, in case you missed the logo in the
top corner) made a limited run of Cylon toasters for this year's San
Diego Comic-Con to promote (what else?) Battlestar Galactica. They were only on sale for a short time, but you can still probably grab one off eBay, if you're willing to pay way more for a toaster than you really should.

Why Lifeguards Should not go to a water park

I am a lifeguard and my whole staff (co-workers) are going to a water park tomorrow. This will be bad as we are planning to be the most obnoxious bunch known to man! We have even resorted to making fake blood capsules. I know, we are bad, but we like to play!

5 Secrets To Beating Procrastination at Home

5 Secrets To Beating Procrastination at Homelady asleep at her laptopIt’s not easy to stay motivated and beat procrastination while being at home. Too many distractions and feeling that tasks can always be delayed until tomorrow or the next day can cause procrastination at home to set in.The phone rings, you check your e-mail, watch a little TV and before you know it procrastination at home has stolen your day and what have you accomplished? Then the guilt sets in and you promise yourself that tomorrow will be better, but will it? It can be with a little creativity and organization… 1. Have a plan including some kind of schedule. Make a list of the things you want to get done and write them down. It can be even more helpful to divide the day into thirty minute segments. Be realistic about the amount of time each task will take or you will be overwhelmed by 9:00 a.m. Feel satisfied as you cross each item off the list. 2. Take care of yourself. Leave time each day for some kind of physical activity. It’s good for you and can help you maintain the energy you need. Try to get outside, the fresh air and light are also good for you and can boost your immune system and allow you to remain healthy. It’s especially easy to procrastinate when you aren’t feeling well. Eat nutritious meals and get enough sleep. 3. Focus on the task at hand. If you try to do too many things at once you may get discouraged and finish none of them. It will seem impossible to complete anything unless you really pay attention to one thing at a time. 4. Take a break. When you make your schedule be sure to leave time for a cup of coffee or tea. Time to read a magazine or take a bath. This will make your time at home more enjoyable and also give you little incentives to get things done. 5. Be creative. There is no rule that says you have to do certain tasks on certain days. Vary your schedule and include a few jobs you don’t mind doing with a few that you find less enjoyable. If you hate cleaning the litter box, the oven and the windows then don’t schedule them all for the same day. Do some extra things one day and have a little free time later in the week to do something you enjoy.By following these suggestions you will be able to get things done on time, feel good about what you have accomplished, stay healthy and enjoy being at home.Celebrate each good day and promise yourself a little improvement on the days when you do procrastinate. It will happen but can be avoided more often if you think about the five steps above. In no time, you will find that you have beaten procrastination at home.

Weeding out the garbage in our lives

This week I have been on a mission: get rid of the crap in my house. (Not literal crap, of course) I read once that "a cluttered house equals a cluttered mind". I can honestly say that is true. I loathe not being able to find what I want when I want it. This is a hard project for me, as I am a deeply sentimental person. I hate getting rid of things that evoke great memories. I also read in a book (I can’t remember which) that if you don’t need the specific item, take a picture of it and remember it that way.

I am adopting these great principles and hope that they will assist me in my endeavor. I wish that I was the type of person who has everything in order, much like Bree from Desperate Housewives. I have noticed that I get better and better everytime I "spring clean" and I am able to get rid of more stuff. However, I wish that I had a guardian angel that would tell me to "throw that out", "keep this", "store this here" and etc. Anyone know of one?

I did a Google search for organizing my home and came up with this great website, LifeOrganizers.com They have great articles on how to organize EVERYTHING in your home and life! I can’t wait to put these ideas into practice! They even have an article about procrastination! I am saved!

Mamma Mia!

7_800x600

This movie was SO much fun! I saw it with my best friend Jen, and we were laughing, singing and desperately trying not to dance in the aisle of the movie theater! Jen decided that lifestyle aside, she was most like Donna and I decided that I was most definitely like Rosie (short, witty, and goofy!).

The music was great and was actually adapted from ABBA songs. Could it get any better? The story line was great. Sophie is getting married and desperately wants her father, who has been absent her whole life, to walk her down the aisle. The only problem, she has three possible fathers. So, what would any curious girl do? Invite all three! Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skargard, and Colin Firth play all three potential fathers and are hilarious! Surprisingly, all of the cast sounded good singing! Julie Walters, who is a favorite of mine played the spit fire Rosie. For Harry Potter fans, you might recognize her as Mrs. Weasley. Christine Baranski played Tanya, the rich divorcee so brilliantly! Martha May Whovier has done well for herself! Dominic Cooper also known as Willoughby in the latest incarnation of Sense and Sensibility, was a very good looking Sky.

This movie was a must see! It had a great cast, plot, and soundtrack! Take your girlfriends and enjoy, but don’t dance in the aisles, the theater staff get a bit mad.

Best Wishes and Happy Singing!
